On the mk8 it got changed to every 18k miles or 2 years. You're asking for trouble leaving it for that long on a turbo engine that's already stretched to its limit.

If it has been serviced the oil will be clear. My previous Focus oil was still clear after a year so I dont see why it should be black at all. If it was a main dealer I would take it back. If not I would just do an oil and filter change as Karl suggests.
