There's another thread about a CarPlay module you can get from china that dont require replacing half the dash and loosing a bunch of oem look and feel like all the other kits from china.. it wont work for providing the onboard MMI w/data connectivity for google maps but it would let you use it on your phone and display it on the built in screen and keep all the rest of the functionality..

I downloaded them and managed to brick my MMI. Got Audi to reset. This time, I have decided to pay for three sd cards, £58. Waiting till it gets a bit warmer

Then make sure that Sync This Device is selected and appropriate groups you want to sync with MMI (All Contacts, Favourites, Recents). Q5 MK II, 2.0 TDI (190bhp), S-Tronic.
Check upgrade. if you know which firmware version you have already installed, you can type it there, for example if I got HN+_EU_AU3G_P0782, application will show me options: Check upgrade – options. There’s latest available firmware, maps, bundle pack (which contain firmware and maps update), membership option and other things.
There's lots of ways to refer to the Audi vehicle generations. In your case: platform name "MLB". Audi type code "8R". model name "Q5". Internet generation name "B8" (this comes from a history, and you know how people hate change) So "B8" refers to the B segment vehicles build on the MLB platform.
